Normal Web Site Usage

You can visit the League’s web site without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. The only information we collect from a normal web site visit is the name of your Internet service provider, the browser and type of machine you are using, the web site that referred you to us, the pages you request, and the date and time of those requests.

We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of the site to our visitors. During a normal web site visit, we do not collect or store personally identifiable information such as name, mailing address, email address, phone number, or social security of the visitor.

We collect the IP addresses of visitors, time of access, browser type, and entry and exit pages. We collect some information on an aggregate basis. For example, we track which pages are most popular among visitors as a whole. This information is used for internal review only and not shared with third parties. We do not collect any other information without the visitor’s knowledge and permission. The League does not use "cookies" at this time.

Currently, the League does not collect any personally identifiable information via our web site. Users who choose to click our "Donate Now" button are taken to a partner site, operated by givedirect.org, where they can choose to make a credit card donation. Users who choose to click our "Create Your Own Fundraising Page Today" button are taken to a partner site, operated by FirstGiving.com, where they can choose to make a credit card donation. Data entered on Firstgiving.com forms is covered by FirstGiving.com’s Privacy Policy, which can be reviewed here.

Users who choose to click our "Walk Registration" or "Walk Donation> buttons are taken to a partner site, operated by kinterainc.com where they can choose to make a credit card donation. Data entered on Kinterainc.com forms is covered by kinterainc.com’s Privacy Policy, which can be reviewed here.

Off-line Collection of Personally Identifiable Information

The League collects personally identifiable information from our customers, donors, and participants in our programs via a variety of off-line forms. For instance, forms containing personally identifiable information might be filled out if you:

1. Want to adopt an animal from us.
2. Want to surrender an animal to us.
3. Make a donation to us.
4. Place a call to Animal Control.
5. Make a credit card purchase at our retail store.
6. Choose to participate in one of our many events/programs, including (but not limited to): The Walk for the Animals, Catsino Night and Silent Auction, Kids Summer Program, and others.
7. Want to volunteer to work at the shelter or at a League event.
8. Seek employment at the League
9. Want to interact with us in other ways normal to conducting everyday business and shelter operations.

Selling and Trading Personally Identifiable Information

The League does not and will not sell or trade any personally identifiable information that you provide to us.

This contact information collected may be used in the future to contact registered users about business pertaining to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. We do not share information collected with outside parties.
