Driven by a passion for equality and a commitment to advocacy, Candice Lopez has been a champion for social justice for over two decades. She has worked on the front lines of change, collaborating with grassroots organizations, leading community initiatives, and influencing policy reform. Her draw to social justice work was led by an interest in gender disparities with an emphasis on understanding interpersonal violence and its impact on communities. This interest ignited a lifelong pursuit of fairness and inclusion leading to decades of working with nonprofits and governments to address violence against those most vulnerable. Currently, Candice leads Project PEACE, Arlington’s Coordinated Community Response to Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence, with the Arlington County Department of Human Services. She has served in leadership roles with other area nonprofits as a former Board Member at SCAN and as the former Family Home Director at Doorways. Candice’s experience laid the foundation for a career dedicated to dismantling systemic barriers and empowering marginalized communities.
