Pickles is a sweet, snuggly, and sensitive soul who’s looking for a person or family that will give him the patience, comfort, and love he craves. He’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality-from joyful wiggles to middle-of-the-night cuddle requests. This guy is a total ham for human affection and thrives when he’s close to his people.
Pickles has had wonderful days hanging out in the Evaluation Office and even spent time in foster care, where he continued to show what a good, trainable boy he is. He’s house-savvy and knows how to politely let you know when it’s potty time. He naps like a champ, enjoys snuffle boxes and busy toys, and adores treats (meatballs are a big win).
He’s alert and curious about the world-things like deer, squirrels, and other dogs may get his attention, but he’s already making great progress using treats, distance, and positive reinforcement. Pickles is also a bit sensitive to household noises (like fireplaces and appliances), so he’ll need a gentle, understanding home to help him feel safe and secure. Cuddle sessions help him settle beautifully, and he’s shown us just how much he loves belly rubs and quiet time with his person.
When it comes to other dogs, Pickles is definitely more into people. He can coexist with calm dogs at a distance, but we think he’d shine brightest as your one and only. Dog parks aren’t his thing, but supervised hangouts or tandem walks with the right dog could work with time and support.
